Welcome to my homepage
Born and raised in the countryside in the north part of Denmark my interest for nature and wildlife was almost a given.
I remember many of my adventures to the small forrest next to my father’s farm, making small hideaways. I also remember the Deer’s on the fields in the early misty mornings, the overwhelming silence and an endless amount of fresh air.
These early memories certainly had a huge impact of what I find interesting to photograph today.
My first photos
My first camera was given to me at my confirmation at the age of 14. It was a Kodak Disk camera which was the pocket camera of that time. It did however produce some quite bad photos, so two years later I had saved up enough money to buy my first SLR camera, a Nikon F301. A really nice camera, unfortunately I did a huge mistake and bought some crappy lenses for it, so the true potential of having a “real” camera was never really there.
Anyway I learned all the fundamentals even if the learning curve was much flatter with an analogue system that today’s digital.
I have always been a tech-geek. This has been an advantage as I have been able to adapt to new equipment, but it has also been a challenge, as I used to focus on the gear more than the resulting picture. For me making compelling photos is a mixture of knowing how to use your gear, and a clear understanding what the result should be.
Wildlife
Having spend quite some years photographing a lot of different things, I now almost purely do wildlife and travel photos. I really enjoy being outdoor making photos which may inspire people to care and realize what an amazing world we are living in.
Travel
I have always been egear to travel and to explore new unfamiliear places. I have been fortunate to visit a lot of places around the world and each place has it very own charm, it being the outback of Australia, the mountains of Nepal or the busy streets of San Francisco.
